IMPLEMENTATION CONCEPT FOR PARKING MANAGEMENT

The Essen trade fair with its 50 annual trade fairs and shows belongs to the top ten trade fair locations in Germany. International, national and regional specialist and consumer trade fairs attract 1.4 million visitors each year.

The purpose of the project was to transfer the parking management into an implementable condition and finally into operation.
Therefore different concepts were established:

• control concept
• communications concept
• human resources concept
• distribution concept
• commissioning concept

Within the control concept, the operational control of the parking management was developed and the frameworks as well as the requirements of the future parking ticket for exhibitors and long-term visitors were defined.

The communication concept defined under which conditions and in what form the internal and external stakeholders of Messe Essen were given access to the project phase.
Moreover via the human resources concept the establishment and tender of new employee profiles were supported and common parts were traced, which are supposed to be applied in the user management of the planed IT system.
The distribution concept includes the frameworks and the requirements of the future parking ticket for exhibitors, visitors and other users. Therefore, current projects regarding parking tickets were also gathered and checked on interfaces with the parking tickets. Futhermore the different charge scalings were calibrated.
The employees were introduced into the new concepts by training measures.
